Preparing for Birthday Boy

The first thing that we did today was to go to my Catholic Church. After church, we visit my mother-in-law and eat pizza. Charles take a nap there and so we take advantage of his nap and sneak off to my sisters place. After we get my sister, we go and buy gifts and some things to prepare for Charles’s soon coming birthday. It’s been a busy day. I still need to finish my reading for my driving school.          

Driving School

Good morning to all my fellow bloggers! Hope everyone had a good night’s sleep last night because mine was not so good because I’m always feeling bad. I don’t know what happen to me.  I’m always hurting and it won’t stop.  I keep having headaches and my stomach always hurts.
Anyway… we wake up early because today is my first time to go to driving school, but first we need to carry my son to my sister’s place. I asked her a favor if she’s ok to baby sit with him. I wish he will be a good boy there and not always looking for me.

Day Away from the House

Today we wake up early because  my husband carried me and Charles to  my sister’s place for a visit. I was happy to just get out of the house and go some place different. Charles was very happy to see his auntie and uncle again. He misses them because he always asking for them. We also made a video using my sister’s video camera. I was able to catch up with all the latest gossip.

Headache

I have felt bad with a headache for three days now. I really don’t feel like blogging, but I get bored just resting my head. I’m not sure how long I can sit here because my head still hurts. Everything my husband and Charles does seems to make me mad. I hope and pray I will feel better tomorrow. I will go back and try and rest some more now. Hope to get back blogging and hopping later tonight.    

feel bad

I really feel pity to my son Charles when I get mad at him. I promised myself that I would have big patience with him and calm down. My attitude lately is that I’m easy to  get mad, especially when I’m a moody. However,  sometimes he really likes me to push me and I lose my temper. I really don’t know sometimes what to do with my son because he really don’t listen to me and his very hard-headed. I just wonder if that is an attitude of a normal toddler or his regular personality after he matures. Sometimes he is like a Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, he can be very sweet, loving and helpful, but then the other side he will not listen and be very disrespectful. Dr. Hyde is the side that I really hate and I fill pity for him.   

Filipino show's

Today the Direct TV man will be coming soon, so my Dad plans to come early home to talk the man installer. Now I’m very sure my mom is very happy and excited to get to see the Filipino show’s again. Imagine it’s nine channels of different  Filipino show’s. Soon the satellite company that we are using before will canceled. I’m not sure if I will like the shows that  my mom likes because I did not watch that before. I’m the one that loves to watch is the kids show’s.

Chateau Village

Yesterday, we go visit my sister’s place and I bring her some siopao. I make it because my husband said that he really missed it. So I called my sister and told her that we will go visit her and her husband to bring some siopao. They are happy because they missed it too . Anyway, they have some picture that we taken at their place. My son is excited and happy to play outside.
 

Tag Mad

Ate Emma and my sanagy Joy, they tag me about my Tag Mad the other day. I did not post it immediately. First we had many things to do here at the house and we are also helping my sister transfer to their new place. Second, I’m looking to see if I have a picture showing that I’m mad. So finally I found it and will post it now. I will share with you why I’m mad in this picture. The first picture was taken when I received my new camera from my husband for my very first Christmas gift here. I was trying to make an ugly face Hahahah. When I look at this picture it makes me laugh out loud, I really don’t know what I can say about this picture if this is mad. The second and the third I took last year, but I’m using my sister’s webcam trying to make mean girl face.
 

Direct TV

We signed up to get Direct TV satellite. We are suppose to get it installed next Tuesday. I’m so excited because we also get the Filipino package. Soon I will have 9 channels of programs from my home country. I can hardly wait for them to come. It has some other programs that we want, but we don’t have with our current provider. I want tell who that is since we are still using them. After we call and cancel them next week, I will feel better talking about them.

Cutting d Ampalaya

Last Friday I plan to cook vegetables (a pinakbit), because I found a good bagoong at the Asian store when we went there, so I decide to buy it also. When I start preparing the vegetables, I accidentally cut my finger I didn’t know at first until I feel the sore and see the blood. See the picture I attached? I take this picture when my wound feel a little better and its started to heal. It was really yucky and really hurt so bad. Can you see I almost cut my finger. Ewwwww! So I stop my cooking and talk to my husband on the phone and told him what had happen to my finger, He rush home and look my wound, he told me that I need to go to the hospital because it need to be stitch, but I refuse to go and told him that it will heal soon as soon as I will put some medicine to it and bandage.

Cable or Satellite

My husband has been a faithful Dish Network customer now for over ten years. Well, I think it is even closer to 15 years now. All his equipment is old and we are thinking it’s time to upgrade or maybe just go with something different. It’s sad that companies shower new customers with all the great deals, but existing customers get shafted and are expected to pay for upgrades to come close to the new customers free gifts. So, he has decided maybe it’s time to change companies and become a new customer. The next few days we will be studying and trying to find the best value that fits our entertainment.

Walking Outside

After we finish eating our dinner, we go outside to walk for a little exercise. We have decided that we need more exercise. It helps Charles burn some energy and helps us adults lose some weight. All this staying inside makes us stir a little crazy. Charles likes when his dad carries him on his shoulders. We are happy that winter is almost over and soon will become spring. We are back now and watching Batman the cartoon on TV.

Last Sunday me and my family we go to the Catholic church. When the church is finished, we go visit my mother-in-law and Charles takes his nap there. We also planned to visit my sister's place, but we tried to call her first before we go, but no one answered the phone. So we decided not to go there. Charles and his Bad Mood

Charles has had a bad mood for the past two days. He has been moody and fighting everything we try and teach him. My husband said that he has regressed a little. Before, he learned to sleep alone. Now, he is always asking me to sleep next to him again. He is always throwing a temper tantrum when he doesn‘t get what he wants.

Tax Weekend

My husband has been in a bad mood the whole weekend. He said it’s because he don’t like me to disturb him when he is doing the taxes. I still don’t understand this tax thing because I did not have that in the Philippines. He said this year we will get back money from the Federal and State governments. I will sit here and think what we can do with the extra money. Next year, He thinks we will have to pay, so he said enjoy this year.

I've Been a Bad Blogger

I’ve been a bad blogger for the last week. My heart just hasn’t been into it. I’ll try and get back to posting something in this blog daily. My husband is still working hard. Charles is still a little hard headed, but mostly he is a good boy. We are trying to adjust not having roommates, but we are enjoying it.

surpirse, surprise....

When I’m chatting with my mom earlier this evening, my husband told me that he will go to the store. I was not thinking of what he wants to buy at the store. I told him that I will not go because I’m tired and also chatting with my mom. When he came home, he had a surprise for me. Wow, a dozen roses and a heart shaped box of chocolates. He also buy me one chocolate flower. Before he buy a pink teddy bear last week, but my son he kidnap my bear to play and sleep with. I don’t know what to do and I’m feeling guilt because I don’t have something to give my poor husband. I wish soon that I can have work, so I can give my husband some things to show my love for him.

Driving Soon

In March, I will starting a driving school. I’m excited and very nervous at the same time. I hope I can successfully pass the course. My husband and I decided that before I start looking for work that it would be best to get my drivers license first. I have the book, but it is hard to study caring for this soon to be three year old. So to all my online friends please pray and wish me luck.

Feeling Bad and Hurting Today

I wake this morning thinking we would go to church like we do every Sunday. However, my foot is hurt so bad. I think I hurt it exercising. My husband said that maybe I pulled a tendon in my ankle. I only know that I can not walk on it. My husband has been a good helper and fussing at my like a mother hen. He always telling me to sit and rest my foot, but I have so many things to prepare for the work week coming. Charles has been a good boy and also trying to help his mom. Even though he sometimes gets it wrong. I well, here comes my husband telling me to go rest my foot again. At least tomorrow he will go back to work and I can finish some of my projects. I’m happy that he loves me and takes care of me. Bye for now.

Lazy Saturday

Just taking it easy most of the day. In the evening, we go to the Asian store and buy a few items. I really like it when we can go there. I can buy some things to eat that remind me of my food from the Philippines. We are also trying to prepare me for driving school. My husband and I discussed that the next big event for me to learn is to drive. I get very nervous and excited thinking about that. I tried to exercise a little this morning, but I think maybe I hurt my foot a little. My husband said maybe I over extended it. He said just go rest it and put some Freeze It on it. He really likes that stuff, but so do I. Charles is demanding something for me. So, I’ll try and come back to the pc later.

Mary, Queen of Peace

My husband, he found the new church and he ask me if I like to go and try it there. First, he go out early morning because he wants to find out what time mass will start. We didn’t know the time, because that’s our first time to visit. The priest give a good sermon (walli). The Mass it’s almost the same like the Mass at the Philippines. The church that we are always going before is Saint Jude. I get disappointed just a little. On last Sunday, the priest talking to the church because he is disappointed. The priest said that so many people have nice cars and nice things, but no one cares to give the money to the church. I was thinking maybe he don’t need to say like that.

Thomas the Train

This is the favorite character of my son's right now. He loves Thomas the Train. He will sit and watch the DVD the whole day, if we will allow that. He also loves the toys and books about Thomas the Train. Before, he always like Cars, but know he is into Trains. I wonder what his next fad will be. Only time will tell.

My school

SMALLVILLE

Smallville is my husband’s favorite show. He has to watch that every Thursday. Now, my husband has also got me hooked on Smallville too! We can’t wait for Thursdays. My husband said he always reading the comic books when he is I child. So, he says that he has a special place in his heart for comic book movies and TV shows. We also like the Flash Gordon that comes on TV on the Friday nights. Now, this fall we also like to watch the Reaper on Tuesday and Bionic Women on Wednesday. Last year, my husband have only one show that was a must watch. This year, now we have four shows that we must watch. Good thing we have a DVR so now we don’t have to worry to miss them.

Very Excited

Today my husband call me from his work and he said he go online at the immigration website. He said that they approved Charles’s Green card on 1/29/08. We are very excited because we made the mistake when we applied for my card. To make a long story short, I get my card, but Charles we had to apply separately. Soon we will get the official letter in the mail in the next couple of days. After that soon the green card will come. We are very excited and happy of that because we can get him a ssn number because it’s needed for the income tax season.

Hello Everybody

We have all been a little sick here lately which means I have not felt like blogging. My head and my body hurts all over. The weather is very crazy. One day it’s very cold, then the next it is very warm. My husband said welcome to Louisiana weather. Yesterday it was very cold, but today it’s 70 degrees outside. Tomorrow it’s going back cold again. My husband said that is why so many people get sick here.

Lazy Sunday

It’s a lazy Sunday and I’m not much motivated today. We went to Church and then we went to eat lunch with my mother-in-law. She cooked some pork in the oven with barbecue sauce. It was very yummy. Charles decided to take a nap there while we visited. Now, we are home and I need to iron some of my husbands work clothes. I’m just not motivated to do it. I guess I need to go get it over with or it will never get finished.

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend is going great. Ours is just getting started. Everyone is awake now and Charles is still a little sick, but he is better than two days ago. He has some congestion in his nose and he‘s a little moody. My husband is just trying to figure out what we are going to do. He’s looking the money and wondering if theirs is any left. Maybe we cab finish buying some much needed things for the house. Anyway, it’s time for breakfast.

Mother hood

I remember the day he came into my world, eyes so blue, hair so thick skin a beautiful pink, I remember him crying in the nurses hands, as she held him to clean him by the nurse's sink. He was laid to rest in my arms that day, it was as if he had always been there, He looked so angelic and needing of love, As he lay in my arms his eyes in a stare. He was adorable as he is still today, I held him close and felt the joy, still not beileveing he were there, yes my own little boy. As days went by and turned into years, he grew up to be a wonderful child, a mixture of temprements he certainly has, wild and independant then needey and mild. "Mummy" use to be the word, now its turned into "mum", he has always been my little boy, always my little son. It's true what they say, "their not babies for long", one minute they need you, then their all grown up and strong. So hold on to the memories and do not let go, independance it seems to come quick, but whatever age they are they still need their mum, when their lonely, afraid or sick. So last night I gave him a cuddle, a kiss and a stroke of the hair, I still look at my little wonder, and I still can't believe he is there.

Happy Mardi Gras to all! Mardis Gras is a very big Louisiana holiday. My husband still needs to explain to me exactly what they are doing here. He says it's like a festival. They people will ride decorated floats in the parade and throw necklace beads and things like fake coins a cups. In Shreveport, it is geared more toward family. In New Orleans, it is geared towards adults with drinking and parties. I'm curios to see this thing called Mardi Gras.

I've been cleaning house all morning long. It's time for Charles to take a nap and for me to rest a minute. Charles has played hard. My husband is happy to waste his holiday off from work. He keeps telling me he is bored and just ready to go anywhere. I tell Him that I need to finish cleaning the house. I'm hoping soon that I can get my drivers license. I have been studying the book and my hubby has been teaching me a little how to drive. I'm ready and hoping to start working soon, but we still have problem of who can watch Charles. Growing Up Fast

Today we went to the church of my husband. Charles is growing up fast because he is learning to sleep alone and he did not cry much when we used the church’s daycare. I wish he would show interest in using the potty. After church, we buy some fries Popeye’s Chicken and carry that to my husband’s mom. Charles took a nap their and we were able to sneak off and watch a movie. We watched the movie Predator vs. Alien. It has been some time now since my husband and I have had some time together alone. Now, I’m washing the new sheets that we bought for our bed yesterday.

My Husband’s Doctor's Appointment

My husband has an early follow up doctor’s appointment today. It’s at 7:30 AM this morning. He has returned home and is preparing to go to his work. We are sad because he is a Desert Storm War Veteran and he has pain in all his joints. The x-rays did not find anything. He says that they never find anything wrong. However, I know that he suffers from pain. I watch him hurt every day. They give him some medicine and it helps. We just wonder why that can’t find out what is his problem. The blood work for rheumatoid arthritis is negative. They just tell him to lose weight, exercise and eat better. It breaks my heart to see him suffer.

Yesterday I fried the galongong fish to eat for lunch with my sister. Our husband’s don’t like to see when we eat the fish head hehehe. They especially don’t like to see the dried fish because they don’t like the smell. I got this fish from the Asian store. When I see that it’s fresh, I did not think twice because it’s good and not old stock. I miss so much the fish and the seafood. You know, I remember when I'm there at the Philippines that we are always eating like fresh vegetables, fish and dried fish. We only can eat meat if we have enough money to buy. Potty Train

Since my sister made this blog just for me, I have to write any entry here. I wasnt able to post another entry, just dont know what to write here man gud.....coz u know im still new with this blog thingy.


Anyways, I just like to share something about my 2 years old son, since we get here in the US I have been training him to used his potty chair, coz he don't know how to use one yet, bcoz when we was in the philippines I let him poop and pee to his diaper. He never used a potty chair before, so its kinda new to him , it is really take a lot of patience by teaching him. Especially he used to poop always to his diaper, Finally last week my baby knows how to tell me that he need to poop, its so cute when I heard him saying " ma popo" then he will run to the toilet and ask me to help him to take off his pull ups coz his going to used his potty chair. I can tell that my baby is growing so fast now, and he learn so fast also.

New Governor

Louisiana swore in a new governor today. His name is Bobby Jindal. He is suppose to be a reform governor with his first agenda is to call a special legislation session and input new ethics reforms for the state of Louisiana. Louisiana politics is famous for it’s corruption. I will hope and pray that true reform can come and that we can change the image of our state.

This picture was taken from the lake, when we went fishing, it is so funny because his trying to fit in the box, If I find it earlier than that when we were in cebu I might have an idea to bring him like that here in the US, coz it might be a lot cheaper and less hassle, right?
